We’re very excited to have been selected to be a site for International Museums Weekend 2016!

Actually, it’s two weekends – 18th/19th June and 25th/26th June.

For those not in the know – this is an event when amateur radio enthusiasts set up their radio equipment in a museum or heritage site and contact other enthusiasts around the world to talk about where they are, and the history of the place. It’s in the form of a challenge to see how many different sites they can contact.

We’re really lucky to be welcoming some Eastbourne radio enthusiasts – Tony, Brian and Vince to transmit from the Wish Tower.

We’ll open the tower all four days between 11am and about 4pm (depending on how many people are about) and we’ll be aiming to have transmissions from about noon each day.

We won’t be doing formal tours, but we’ll have some exhibition panels to see and you can explore the tower and chat to the radio guys, and find out more about the tower from our volunteers who will be on hand to chat to.

We’ll also have copies of our Conservation Plan to see – and, if you like, take away for a donation to the Wish Tower Friends funds.

We’re looking forward to seeing you!
